To look at a friend

Who is hurting

Makes me hurt too

To look at a friend

Who feels no hope

Makes me feel that way to

In my friend I see a mirror image

Who is way out ahead

Makes me feel I’ve accomplished something

I’ll always stand back and watch them go

I’m not one to steal the show

To push them farther than they thought they could go

I feel I’m way out ahead

Helping my friends who need my help

Guiding those who need some guidance
