The moonlight highlights Maddie’s slight features as she sits on the front porch of the old farmhouse. Ethan walks out the door, wanting to talk with her but not sure if he should. Quietly he comes up next to her and sits on the steps with her.
“Are you ok,” he asks as she looks away from him trying to hide her eyes from him.
She nodds.
“Maddie,”
“What do you want from me,” Maddie said unsure.
“The truth Maddie the whole roller coaster ride, blood and guts truth,” Ethan implored to her.
Throwing a pebble she had picked up off the porch she tossed it, then stood up, “Nobody wants the truth. They think they do. But they really don’t. They don’t want to hear-“
Maddie stops short realizing what she was about to do. Her fear gets the best of her as she turns and runs toward the barn.
Ethan watches as she runs away, he whispers to the ground, “I do, Maddie.”
